The mission of Green Recoverings is to match needed resources (sleeping materials) with needy recipients (shelters, charities, families in need); while providing our country’s many hotels with an outlet for their gently used bedding materials and reducing the impact on our quickly filling landfills.
The purpose of this site is to facilitate that matching process. By signing up as a resource donor, resource recipient and/or volunteer on this site, users agree to make the information provided available on our online map.
There are four ways that you can help Green Recoverings with its ambitious plans:
DONATE REUSABLE ITEMS
Representatives of hotels need simply tell us what you have to donate and how often you expect to provide donations. We’ll work with you to coordinate the pick up of your donated items, and provide you with a receipt for your charitable contribution. By registering on our site, you are also allowing us to publicly recognize your generosity.

RECEIVE NEEDED ITEMS
Tell us what you need and how often you need it. We’ll coordinate with you to provide you with the best quality materials we can find, and determine how best to get it to you. Additionally, by registering on our site, you’re telling the public how they can help you in your important work.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
The key to this program is moving resources in the most financially and environmentally effective way. By registering on our site, volunteers will tell us where they are located — so that we can utilize their time efficiently and minimize travel time/distance/gas usage/environmental impact as we pick up donations and deliver them to recipient organizations and institutions.
Volunteers who cannot help with transportation, but may have other skills to offer, are also encouraged to register!
