- Meet Mary -

Mary Marzano grew up in a family of eight children in Maplewood, NJ, where she once again resides with her husband and two dogs. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Villanova University and a Masters in Marketing from Seton Hall University. She has over 20 years of marketing, advertising and public relations experience.

While helping her sister Jane Marzano-Patin recover from Hurricane Ike by collecting donated clothing and items for her family, Mary discovered that many hotels were discarding huge amounts of perfectly usable bedding material –hotels routinely replace sheets, blankets, towels and other goods on regular cycles — which often end up in landfills. Mary saw a way to positively impact lives and our environment and Green Recoverings was born!

Since Hurricane Ike in Sept. 2008, Mary has proceeded to match the needs of many shelters and charity organizations with numerous hotels around the country. The much needed items include bedding, towels, furniture, kitchenware, soaps and even toilet paper.

Some of the hotels that have made generous donations include:
Hilton Hotels
The Plaza Hotel, NYC
The Marriott
The Hyatt
Best Western
The Murray Hill Inn, NJ
The Governor Morris Inn, NJ
Westin Hotel
